Kief-Joshua Vineyards is a small family business that is situated on 20 acres in beautiful Elgin, Arizona, right in the middle of what has become known as "winery row." We specialize in dry, full-bodied wines that are crafted by hand using traditional methods of barrel aging and gentle handling to produce top quality wines for any occasion.

Kief-Joshua Vineyards is practicing sustainable farming techniques to help protect the land. Kief realized early on that to achieve his goal of producing memorable wines of outstanding quality, he needed to start in the vineyards and not focus solely on the winemaking. Inspired to meet present goals while preserving the land for future generations, Kief made the commitment to implement sustainable farming techniques from vineyard to bottle. The vineyard is free of herbicides and pesticides, and this environmentally approach will continue to be implementing over the years.

Kevin and Karyl Wilhelm bought 20 beautiful acres of rolling Sonoita-Elgin wine-growing land in 2003. Their first varietals, Syrah and Tempranillo, were planted n 2005, and soon proved Sonoita, at almost 5,000 feet, has a wonderful terrior for fine wine-growing. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and a Spanish white, Albarino, known for its delicate apricot/peach flavors, were planted the following year. Over 5 acres are currently producing grapes for their wines, with 3 more acres planned for other varietals soon.

Along with their wines, the Wilhelm’s 6,000 sq. ft winery is available for custom crush, winemaking and barrel storage for large and small processing operations. Also, prospective winemakers trapped in the city without winemaking resources can use the facility to create their masterpieces, large or small. Karyl, the resident wine maker currently enrolled in the Winemaking Certification program at University of California, Davis, is available to assist with the process as desired.
