“Visions of the Southwest” Premier Mountain Empire of Southern Arizona (MEsa) Film Festival Savor a glass of our local ‘fruit of the vine’ from celebrated vineyards and winemakers while enjoying the film festival. You can also pick up a to-go treat from any participating area eatery. Proceeds from this event helps support education in Patagonia and Sonoita. Date: Saturday June 19, 2010 We are pleased to announce the premier Mountain Empire of Southern Arizona Film Festival (MEsaFF). "Visions of the Southwest". Featuring short films and videos under 20 minutes including documentary, narrative and animation. The festival's films focus is on themes of Southwest culture/multiculture. MEsaFF is dedicated to the belief that the world is immeasurably enriched when local cultures tell their own stories and listen to the unique stories of others. Often when asked why we live here I like to say that it is Cooler, Greener and Sweeter in the Mountain Empire; this event is another way to show just how 'cool' we really are…if you like Green, we got it, not only in the beautiful town park, surrounding mountains, stream and lake but also in our commitment to a 'deeper green' which can be experienced in our sustainable homes tour scheduled earlier on the same day. Sweeter… well you will just have to experience that element for yourself as you meander through the charming artful and historic village of Patagonia, take in the relaxing and expansive grass land vistas of Sonoita and partake in the fruit of the vine offered at the many vineyards and wineries to be found in the burgeoning wine district of Elgin! MEsa's film festival, 'Visions of the Southwest' is held in conjunction with the Mountain Empire of Southern Arizona Mesa's Wine, Dine, & Unwind Festival the third weekend in June, June 18, 19 & 20. |
